Janice + Dylan | An Intimate Backyard Wedding

Shew, 2020... am I right? This year has had more than it's share of hurt, fear, illness, loss, pain... but it's also been filled with more hope, clarity, perspective, compassion and love. 2020 has given us the time to pause and reflect on what is truly important, what and who really matter. I'm so excited for every couple that prioritizes their marriage over a big wedding, that prioritizes moving forward and putting each other first despite having to drastically scale down their event.

I just think it's super romantic...

Janice and Dylan decided to make it official a couple of weeks ago. You read that right the first time, weeks. They planned their whole wedding in less than 13 days. I just can't even imagine. But, when you scale down to what is actually important, when you are crazy in love with each other, and you have your mind set to be husband and wife, 13 days is plenty of time.

I had worked with Janice a few months back at a wedding in Louisville (She's a super talented photographer, @janicejusticephoto on IG) and she let me drive her new Suburban... I mean, I almost asked her to marry me after that, so I get why Dylan likes her so much. She was amazing to work with, such a nice, down-to-earth person. So, when she texted me to see if I had their date open I was excited to work with her again, and felt so grateful to be a part of her big day.

The ceremony was sweet and intimate. With only a handful of guest, it was almost like an elopement. The ease of it made it seem almost whimsical, there was no rushing, no worries, no panicking about details, just a relaxed beautiful day the ended with two great people sharing a last name.

It was perfect.

Here are some highlights from the day.
