I'm so excited to offer mini sessions at the creek! This little corner of The Elkhorn Creek really is a beautiful and unique location. Last night I took some of my favorite people for a little preview session.

The weather was perfect, the water was calm and we had a great time. I loved watching them splash around, check out the crawdads their mom caught, and sling around that little fishing pole I put together.
I've wanted to do a photoshoot at the creek for a while; and with Summer coming to a close there is no better time. Usually my sessions are about an hour to two hours long, and I've noticed with kids sometimes that's pushing it... sometimes photos just aren't super fun for them. So, these Creek Mini Sessions will be perfect for families who want some updated photos in a unique setting, without the full time and investment of my regular sessions. We will shoot for about a half hour, and we will make it as fun for them as possible! I have the props that are in the above photos; but if you have something you'd like to incorporate into your session you're welcome to bring it and we can try to work it in.
These minis aren't just for families. Looking for some senior photos, a maternity session, couple shoot? These sessions can be whatever you want them to be! Anything from a unique date idea, to a pregnancy announcement, get creative!
I'm blessed to have some amazing neighbors who have allowed me access to the creek from their private property. The area of the creek is usually very private and quiet, which makes it perfect for photos. Also, the water levels are pretty low, which means it's not a great fishing spot at the moment; but easier for little feet to navigate and explore.
For these sessions, we will meet at their property in Peaks Mill, Kentucky. From there we will walk a little way to the bank of Elkhorn Creek. Since the water levels are down you must be able to walk a little ways on uneven ground and rocks. The rocks are smooth from the creek bed; but it's an uneven surface. Shoes will be a requirement for these sessions, even in the water, so come wearing something that can get wet! I would also recommend bringing some towels and a change of clothes incase someone goes for an accidental swim. Bug spray and sunscreen aren't a bad idea either.
There will be three package options for these mini sessions, The Bluegill Package (includes a large canvas and 4 prints as well as all of the digital images from your session), The Crawdad Package (includes 4 prints and 20 digital images), and The Minnow Package (includes 10 digital images). The prints and canvases will come from a local small business here in Georgetown, Kentucky. I like to support local when I can; and in this case I can support another small business, and offer a higher quality product at the same time. It's a win win. Custom albums are available as well, so if you want to turn your session into a keepsake book let me know. I can get you some pricing on the different options for those.
