If you've never been inside Spindletop Hall in Lexington, Kentucky you are missing out. Years ago, when I was planning my own wedding, I attended a bridal show there; and I've been to a few work events held in one of the main rooms downstairs. Even though I've been inside the actual building, I never had the opportunity to really explore...
The detail in the trim, the painted walls, the ornate fixtures, the BATHROOMS! The colors, the textures, the patters... it's a photographers dream. The space is so beautiful, it really makes even small, intimate weddings feel very grand and special.
Kathy and Paul are probably one of the cutest couples I've worked with. I'm not exaggerating when I say I had to tell Paul to stop kissing Kathy for a few seconds and to look at the camera! I LOVE THEM! He got a little emotional during our bridal portraits and ceremony; but I'll be good and not share those images here... just know that they are very sweet.
The whole day was very sweet, close family and friends shared a special day together. They witnessed Kathy and Paul exchange vows and express their love for one another, they gathered in the library for dinner and shared stories about the couple, and which baseball team they cheer for; and they celebrated together as a new chapter of life began on October Third, Two-Thousand and Twenty. And I was so honored to be there to celebrate with them.
If you're in the market for a wedding (or event) venue, check out Spindletop Hall in Lexington Kentucky, it really is a beautiful space that you and your guest will love.
Here are a few of my favorite images from Kathy and Paul's intimate wedding at Spindletop Hall.
