This past weekend Morgan and Cameron tied the knot at The Ashley Inn in Lancaster, Kentucky. This was my first time at the venue; and I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it was.
I love historic homes, and The Ashley Inn didn't disappoint. The beautiful staircase, the historic detail, the soft textures... it really is a wonderful venue for a wedding. The bridal party was able to stay at the Inn over night, get ready together, and then get married in the barn behind the home. The reception was held in a (heated, praise Jesus) building that over looked the horse pasture. (Oh, and there were goats and chickens there too... so, basically heaven for me.)
Since I was the second shooter for this wedding, I focused on the details (my favorite) while Mike focused on the bride getting ready as soon as we arrived. During the day my goal was to capture authentic candids, and angles that Mike wasn't able to capture (since he's only one person and can't be everywhere at once). Not only did I have a great time photographing this wedding, I learned a lot too.
If you're a bride looking for a venue, I'd highly recommend The Ashley Inn and Doug Smith Designs + Events. They did a fabulous job.
Here are some of my favorite images from Morgan and Cameron's wedding day.
